Cameron Diaz sat down with me last weekend to debate her latest picture, “The Green Hornet,” by which she performs feisty secretary Lenore Case alongside Seth Rogen’s Britt Reid. The film, directed by Michel Gondry, is presented in 3D on designated screens, and I asked Diaz if she thought the revived know-how was right here to stay.
“I do,” she stated, adding that it was just one other device at the fingertips of contemporary filmmakers keen to search out new methods to inform authentic stories.
This appeared like a softball, but I lobbed it to Diaz anyway. Is there any probability we’d ever see “Charlie’s Angels 3D” with herself, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu.
“Oh, that's an attention-grabbing thought,” Diaz instructed me. “But I don’t assume that can ever happen. There probably will probably be another ‘Angels’ movie, but I don’t suppose we’ll come back for it. Although I just like the 3D idea.”
Well, Diaz was half right. The Angels are coming back, besides they’ll be going back to tv, where they started.
EW reports that an “Angels” remake simply received the greenlight at ABC, and will probably be set in Miami. No phrase on casting, though very similar to the brand new “Hawaii 5-O,” it possible will go glossy and young. Will they get it prepared in time for subsequent fall? We’ll see.
In the meantime, “The Green Hornet” with Rogen and Diaz opens everywhere right now
